Anyone who knows me will know that I’m always banging on about how blogging is the best online marketing tool for small businesses – and it’s true, the evidence backs it up.
Online marketing experts Hubspot report annually on how effective inbound marketing (getting people to come to you) is over outbound marketing (sending info like direct mail out) and the reports make fascinating reading.
For example:
Companies that blog get 55% more traffic to their websites (that’s the statistic I ALWAYS quote!)
and
Companies that blog have 97% more inbound links to their website than those that don’t
and
Companies that blog have 434% more indexed pages than companies that don’t.
When Google does its complicated algorithm to work out where you should rank in search results, two of the most important factors are the
number of links into your site (showing people trust your content enough to link to it) and the number of pages on your website (meaning
there’s plenty of content there) – so you can see why these statistics show blogging is such a compelling marketing tool.
Another interesting statistic is that 57% of those companies that do blog have acquired at least one new customer as a direct result of their blog – and the more often they blog, the more likely they are to get business from it – with a massive 92% of companies who blog several times a day getting new customers as a result.
When I talk to business owners about blogging I hear the same two questions over and over:
“I’m too busy – I just don’t have time to blog!”
“I don’t know what to blog about!”
That’s where I can help. Together we can brainstorm the topics that are relevant to your business and I can do some keyword research to see
what people are searching for – and then I can write unique, relevant content just for you, that you can use on your blog (and in your
newsletters too).
If you’d like to start benefitting from that 55% more traffic drop me a line or give me a call on 01367 888229 – I’d love to help you!
